Valsa was born on 27th May 1967 as the youngest child of M. M. YACOB and SARAMMA YACOB. She started her schooling at the age of six at Azad Memorial L.P.School. She went to G.H.S.Poothrikka for UP and Highschool studies. She passed SSLC in 1982 as school 2nd topper. She completed her Pre-degree and Degree (BSC Physics) from St.Peter's College, Kolenchery. She got married to P.M.Abraham (Poonattu, Vennikkulam) on 28/10/1990. He was working in Indian Navy as Master Chief Artificer in Naval Aviation in Visakhapattanam. In 1994 he was transferred to Kochin Naval Base and got retired from Kochin Naval Base on 31 January 1997. After the retirement, he was with KSFE till 2018.
